Instapundit says this today:
The press had better hope we win this war, because if we don’t, a lot of people will blame the media.

This defies retort, except to say that Instapundit has his head up his fourth point of contact. He doesn’t know what that is, and it defines him.
This is what has transpired:
1) Bush et Co. manufactured evidence on which to base a war.
2) Bush et Co. invaded with two few troops.
3) Bush et Co. didn’t plan for the aftermath of war, e.g., believing that our troops would be welcomed with open arms.
4) Bush et Co. promulgated policies that, e.g., torture, that run counter to American principles.
5) Bush et Co. are trying to impose a form of government, democracy, on a country with no history of self-rule and without the structures, e.g., free press, that would support it.
And it is all the media’s fault.
