The laptop initiative

Posted on Wednesday 24 May 2006

There is a project to make laptops for the developing world at a cost of $100.

This link will take you to the web site for that project, which is being run out of MIT.

This link will take you to a PledgeBank site where the goal is to have people pledge $300 for one of the laptops. The idea is that people who can afford them will pay for two to be given away.

This link on Flickr shows the first working model.

Pledge, baby!
